As beautifully as each cake is presented, it would mean nothing if not for their amazing flavors. I am a sucker for anything made with passion fruit, so on this particular visit to Extraordinary Desserts, I ordered the amazingly light and creamy Passion Fruit Ricotta cake. Ricotta cake soaked with passion fruit juice makes for an extremely moist and flavorful cake. With kiwi, strawberry, and whipped cream between the cake layers, and plated with passion fruit sauce, kiwi sauce, and strawberry sauce...it was so freaking good I ate every last bite.

If you're a chocolate fiend, you have an awesome selection of delicious chocolate cakes to choose from. Each are rich and decadent. The one pictured below is the Dulce de Leche cake: crunchy milk chocolate candies, chocolate cake, and chocolate mousse. So good! (But I liked the Passion Fruit one better...just a matter of personal taste).

Not only does Extraordinary Desserts have awesome cakes, it also features other delicious bakery items. The new location located in Little Italy is gorgeous! It has a patio area, a very Zen aesthetic, specialty blend teas, rich coffees, non-dessert type food, and during Happy Hour (yes, they serve alcohol), an All-You-Can Eat cheese bar (a variety of cheese, olives, fresh crackers and breads, fresh fruits) for a reasonable price. I wish there was something like Extraordinary Desserts in LA! It's the best tea/cake place I've ever been to -- SO perfect for all those girly celebrations like bridal showers and baby showers. Maybe Karen Krasne (the awesome owner) will open one up here someday. If she ever decides to franchise, I'm down to buy one (although I'll probably double my weight as well). :)
